As you may have noticed, recently we’ve added single-sign-on via Facebook, so using plus.im is even easier now.

Recently we received 2 requests on the same topic: saving Skype conferences persistently for future use. The good thing is that IM+ Web has that feature already :)

So we wanted to share this chat “starring” feature with you. Look at the chat list and you’ll notice a grey star next to the skype chat. Once you click it - this chat will be “starred”. Next time you log into IM+ Web this chat will be in “Chats” list.

This is a very useful feature for hardcore Skype users like ourselves :) Enjoy!

There is an extremely useful IM+ Web feature that most of our users haven’t seen or noticed. So we wanted to point it out :)

This is a notification box shown by IM+ in Google Chrome for Mac. Want to see those while IM+ Web window or tab is in background? Check out “Settings” -> “Notifications” options.

Unfortunately this is a Chrome-only experimental feature and you can see notifications only in this browser. Hopefully, other browsers will support it some time later too.

Let me tell you about some cool stuff in IM+ Web :) There are some secret emoticons you can use for chatting with your friends.

Here is a full list of them:

You just need to type the text including round brackets, and send a message. Please note that all extra smileys work in IM+ Web only. If your friends are using other IM clients, they will receive simple text message.

We’ve worked a lot on fixing performance issues on IM+ Web recently. 

And we’ve got good news! Loading large contact lists is now much more efficient and moving between chat is now faster too. 

Hope you’ll enjoy our new features even more now, when IM+ Web is also really fast :)

I believe you’ve already noticed our new front page design :)

But there are more features to check out in this IM+ Web update. Here they are:

• floating windows mode (Settings -> Layout -> Chat window layout)
• basic themes support (Settings -> Themes)
• “warn me when I close IM+” option (Settings -> Notifications)
• UI tweaks (buttons, etc.)

The main thing is floating windows, for sure. We’ve got a lot of feedback on this one. After 2 weeks of voting by our users we’ve discovered that about 2/3 of users prefer to have an option to use IM+ in multi-window mode. And here they are :)

Theme support is currently in early stage, we’ll keep on working on this feature. Now you can select appealing background gradient from predefined set.

Small but useful option for disabling “Close and exit IM+?” alerts when closing\refreshing IM+ window. Now you can disable this annoying(sometimes) question. 

We are aware of some performance issues in the new version and working hard to solve them.
